Measuring social value

24th and 25th February 2015, central Manchester

Day one: 10am until 5pm

Day two: 10am until 1pm

This CLES learning event will introduce participants to the concept of social value, and support trainees to identify the right approach for them. The course will be ordered according to the step-by-step process required to evidence social value. The course will present existing tools to measure social value such as well-being surveys, SROI and the HACT social value model. There will also be practical activities to guide learners through the creation of their own bespoke social value tools when the right measures do not already exist. Trainees will be leave with frameworks and guidance so they can begin measuring their organisation’s social value.

Train the trainer:

25th February: 1.30pm until 5pm

An optional tag-on half day session designed to leave trainees with the confidence, skills and knowledge they need to deliver the course to colleagues. The session will include the opportunity to practice delivering the course content to other trainees; personal feedback and advice about the presentation, and specific support with any areas of the course content trainees are less confident with.

Follow-up support:

An optional half-day session to take place three months after the main training course. The session is an opportunity for trainees to share any issues they have faced putting what they have learnt into practice with the trainer. Learners will also be able to catch-up with other trainees and learn from each other’s experiences. There will be a refresh of any course content required.
