Making the most of Local Economic Assessment

This course provides delegates with an overview of the current policy and guidance in relation to the LEA duty and explores what local authorities can do to progress economic assessment in their own area.
Drawing on the latest government guidance delegates will learn how they can undertake an economic assessment in their own localities and how to analyse and interpret the results of their assessments to inform future economic strategy. The course will look at the CLES Resilience model giving delegates the opportunity to understand more about it as a conceptual framework for economic assessment.

- key issues and considerations
- understanding government guidance and IDeA
- pre-assessment planning
- economic story of place
- collecting data and intelligence
- analysis and reporting
- reviewing and taking forward the assessment
developing a plan for your assessment activities.
Course fee
£200 plus VAT: £105 plus VAT for charity, voluntary sector organisations.
CLES members can use event days to book this course or receive a 10% discount on the above fees.
Course fees include detailed reference materials, refreshments and buffet lunch.
