As the UK’s leading membership organisation dedicated to economic development and regeneration CLES works with its members to critically analyse policy, undertake independent research and influence government policy. Membership of CLES also gives you a subscription to New Start magazine, the leading publication for making places better – allowing you to view all online content for free.

What are the benefits of CLES and New Start membership?

• Publications –Regular subscription and free access to all CLES’ publications including our Bulletin, Local Work and research publications. Membership also gives you a subscription to New Start online magazine allowing you to access exclusive web content on the CLES/New Start website
• Information: CLES and New Start have an extensive archive of material over 1000 articles and publications. Membership gives you access to this searchable resource
• Events: free places at our regular seminars; 20% off CLES training courses and events including our annual Summit in July. We can also work with members to design bespoke training packages if required
• Ask an expert: Access to online support from CLES staff if you have questions or queries about new policy or are trying to find examples of effective practice in economic development and regeneration. Our experts can also answer queries on data, strategy and delivery
• CLES Consulting: 10% discount on any contract signed with CLES Consulting during the membership period
• Substantial discounts on subscriptions to the journal Local Economy, available from just £15 a year for CLES members

How much does it cost?

• Register free on our website to comment, blog and ‘clip’ articles to your own My Clippings folder.

Individual membership:

• £125 for 12 months (or £15 per month if paying by standing order)

Organisation membership:

• £250 for 12 months (or £30 per month if paying by standing order)
• Receive up to 10 logins for the website and the membership benefits are available to anyone in the organisation.

We can also design bespoke membership packages for your organisation which can include a blend of different services including:

• Briefing papers on policy themes or delivery subjects of your choice;
• Additional capacity for planning and delivering economic development services;

Can I include events in my membership?

Many members choose to include a package of event places in their membership as bulk purchase of events places provides significant cost savings.

• Add 3 days for £400 (saving £200)
• Add 6 days for £750 (saving £450)
• Add 10 days for £1000 (saving £1000)
